From suppression to connection
Sacred plants open the door to deeper layers of our emotional being. They bring you in touch with what you carry inside. Experiences, emotions, and memories that can’t be resolved through thinking or talking alone.
During a plant ceremony, various life experiences may rise to the surface. When we allow ourselves to feel them fully, space opens for healing and insight.
As humans, we’ve all lived through both conscious and unconscious experiences.
Examples of conscious experiences:
– Divorce, loss, or the death of a loved one
– Abandonment
– Physical or non-verbal abuse
– Witnessing an accident
– (Sexual) abuse or betrayal
– War-related trauma
Examples of unconscious experiences:
– Repressed events (often from childhood), such as (sexual) abuse or violence
– The prenatal phase and birth: deeply impactful moments we can’t recall, but which shape our day to day behavior and our beliefs about ourselves
– Generational trauma or war-related imprints
– Past lives
We often disconnect from these experiences. Especially when they come with shame, guilt, fear, or the absence of a safe environment. We stay out of contact with the body. Until something opens.
From disconnection to reconnection
What surfaces in a ceremony can express itself as grief, confusion, or anger. And often, also as silence and deep acceptance of whatever is present.
When we remain curious, a shift begins to unfold. The heart opens and judgment fades.
There is space where the hearth can open. You feel; love, understanding, forgiveness, and acceptance.
What once felt unbearable may suddenly become clear. Or even meaningful.
When we open our heart to ourselves, we also open the door to something greater.
Spiritual insight, beautiful memories, hidden talents, and answers to life’s deeper questions can finally emerge.
